2. REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Shirley, Karen (2016) presents results of
research on digital reading. The main
objective of the research was to analyze
the reading on screens practices of
university students and how their practices
are guided by professors and institutions of
higher education. The research design was
mixed and the type of study was
descriptive of cross-sectional.
Johnson, Thomas &Karen, Estlund
(2014) standards-based metadata in digital
library collections are commonly less than
standard. Limitations brought on by
routine cataloguing errors, sporadic use of
authority and controlled vocabularies, and
systems that cannot effectively handle text
encoding lead to pervasive quality issues.

constructed with the assistance of UGC
grants during 1965 and started functioning
from 1966.it has carpet area of 21 sq-ft and

The library being a growing organism its
requirements would always be increasing
and therefore, the demand for personal
resources would be on the increasing. The
growth of the number of the facilities and
swelling enrolment of students were other
factors, which forced the shifting of the
University of Jnanabharathi campus.
