2. REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Shirley, Karen (2016) presents results of

research on digital reading. The main

objective of the research was to analyze

the reading on screens practices of

university students and how their practices

are guided by professors and institutions of

higher education. The research design was

mixed and the type of study was

Johnson, Thomas &Karen, Estlund

(2014) standards-based metadata in digital

library collections are commonly less than

standard. Limitations brought on by

routine cataloguing errors, sporadic use of

authority and controlled vocabularies, and

systems that cannot effectively handle text

encoding lead to pervasive quality issues.

The library being a growing organism its

requirements would always be increasing

and therefore, the demand for personal
