between two countries which has facilitated a person to do job in other country. So HR managers

will have to act as change agents or change facilitators. They will have to make effective use of

HRD mechanism and will have to build up ‘ learning organizations ‘ for greater organizational

 To study the HR issues and

challenges of present business

scenario.

 To find out the most influencing

human resource management

challenges.

Methodology: The study is secondary in

nature and the content of the research paper

has been collected through various sources

as, journals, books and various website from

the internet.

Challenges of HRM

These challenges can be studied as follows:

 Globalization Movement:

globalization is the tendency of the

organizations to extend their sales or

business to new markets at world

level and for business everywhere.

personnel managers are required to

play a challenging role as to capture

the ability to exploit profitable

opportunities, thereby, to maximize

its return on investment in this new

worldwide competitive market. To

this effect , new globalized firms are

reorganizing their operations and

refocusing their energies around

their crucial areas of competency .

for example: Infosys ,NIIT ,

Ranbaxy ,Dr. laboratories have

created such global operations long

back to explore overseas markets

and exploit available profitable

opportunities.

 Change In legal environment:

There are also many changes have

been taken in the legal framework of

the industrial policy. Human

resource manger should keep an eye

side by side to make necessary

adjustments within the organization

so that effective utilization of human

resources can be achieved. The

managers also have to anticipate the

changes and prepare the

organization to face the changes

without any interruption in the

functioning.

 Change In Political Environment:

Changes in political and legal

environment means changes in

political parties and rules regulation

due to which new laws are

introduced by the new parties and

safeguard the interest of the

workers, consumers and the public

at large. Government participation

in trade ,commerce and industry

poses many challenges before the

management.It is the responsibility

of Human Resource manager to

anticipate the changes and prepare

organization to face them without

any breakdown in its normal

functioning

 Change In Social Environment:

Now a days the society is becoming

very demanding. All the goods and

services are provided according to

the expectations of the consumers.

Social impacts have to be carefully

evaluated before undertaking any

action programme by the business so

that society,s needs can be fulfilled.

 Change In Technological

Environment: Today, with the

technological advancement,

automation and computerization are

taking place which are making the

jobs very complicated which

requires the skilled labour. No one

can survive with old technology in

this competitive environment. So it

is the duty of HR managers to

introduce employees with new

technology by providing training

and also by developing new

programmes. The development of

executives has also become the most

important tasks of the HRM.

 Leadership Development:

Developing the right soft skills to

give shape to the future leaders along

with knowledge, experience and

expertise is also a necessary task of

the HR managers. Since the global

economic and industrial scenario is

very volatile and dynamic, what is

required now is a skill set in yhe

workforce which distinguishes them

as team leaders.

 Change Management: Response of

the business to the changing external

and internal environment is known

as change management. Today’s

industrial growth scenario demands

that there should be change brought

about within all circles of the

industry but there are some forces

which resist the change. It is a huge

challenge before the HR managers to

influence the resisting forces with

the organizations , manage internal

conflicts, motivate them to face

changes and implement the changes.
