Abstract
For believers in astrology and the influence of planets over individual destiny, Tamil Nadu is a great destination. Indian astrology is determined by the planetary position of nine planets in a geocentric orbit.1 Navagrahas simply mean nine planets and there are nine temples located in Tamil Nadu representing each. All of them are located within sixty kilometres radius around Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District.2 Tamil Nadu is the only state where the temples dedicated to the nine celestial bodies are located in such close proximity.
