Abstract
On themidnight between the 14th and 15th of August 1947, on the eve of India’s independence from British rule, Jawaharlal Nehru the first prime minister of India delivered to the Indian Constituent Assembly a historic speech known the world over as ‘The Tryst with Destiny’.
