Abstract
Since its independence, India has formulated a foreign policy that has been flexible as per the dynamic nature of international relations. The foreign policy has been responsive in promoting India’s national interests through a sustained focus on economic growth, and a proactive role in international relations, regional stability and peace. As the largest democratic country and a responsible nuclear power, India’s rise in international relations largely depends on a stable global order. As a responsible global actor, India, on its part, has ensured that the crucial anchor of its foreign policy stands for peaceful coexistence, cooperation and acknowledgement of the sovereignty of other nations.
