Abstract
This paper focuses on the need for incorporating values in the business organizations by the leaders. Various definitions given by different authors of both east and west on values, leader and value based leadership were included. Besides these the significance of value based leadership, factors which emphasize the need for it and role modes of value based leaderships, value based leadership in the Indian context from ancient to the present were included. The conclusion gives the very purpose of including values was emphasized.
