Abstract
After independence from the colonial rule, Jawaharlal Nehru, as the first Prime Minister of India, was at the helm of the chores of nation-building and reconstruction in India. He made various administrative innovations during his stewardship with the help of erstwhile ‘global experts’ while being determined to the ‘democratic socialism’ as principal force behind his thought and action.
