Abstract
Through the twentieth century there has been a significant growth in the frequency of armed conflicts across the globe. These conflicts have not only led to widespread death but extensive displacement, fear and economic devastation. The main aim of this paper is to identify how the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement were developed and drafted by the United Nations. Further Light will be thrown on the impact as well as the limitations of the Guiding Principles and finally how much India has been successful in implementing these principles through their Domestic Laws.
