Abstract
As number of computing resources are increasing day-by-day in different firms, consequently, nominal job scheduling algorithms are necessary for the proficient use of resources. Job scheduling is considered as NP hard problem in parallel computing environment likeclouds ,cluster and grid . Metaheuristics such as GA, Ant Colony Optimization, Artificial Bee Colony, Cuckoo Search, Firefly Algorithm, Bat Algorithm etc. are used by many people to findoptimumresults for problem of job scheduling. These metaheuristic algorithms are utilized to schedule diversesort of jobs such Bag-of-Tasks and independent tasks.This paper provides details of popular metaheuristic techniques based on nature that are used to schedule separate kinds of jobs in order to attain better performance.
