Abstract
TiO2 particles were synthesized from Titanium Tetrachloride (TiCl4)through hydrolysis at 600C followed by the calcination at 5500C.The TiO2particles were prepared in the pH range of 3-12 by adding NaOH and HCl distinctively and CTAB was used as surfactant.Identity of TiO2 was established by using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). TiO2 was employed for photocatalytic degradation of Methylene blue dye from the solution and it was observed that photocatalytic activity of TiO2 is more effective at higher pH range.
