Abstract
From among the compatriots of Faiz Ahmed 'Faiz', who chose writing as their profession, it would be hard to find anyone so favoured by providence. 'Spoilt child of fortune' was the name that some of his critics gave him. To some extent they were right, but it should be borne in mind that Faiz was above all someone who worked hard.
