Abstract

IT companies invest a vast amount of money in educating their employees to deal with their ever changing environment, in the hope of bringing down development time, cut down project failures, etc. The purpose of this study was to observe the situation of training in IT companies at Bangalore and trying to answer questions such as how significant the training is and how beneficial it is. To find answers to these, a questionnaire was administered with IT employees at five IT companies and interviews were held with department managers at two of them. The major results show that training is valued as an important tool to sustain and increase knowledge.
